Current practice focus

I am dedicated to providing high-quality, personalised educational psychology services, with a clear focus on areas where my expertise can have the greatest impact. Due to high demand, I currently accept cases from Year 6 upwards, with exceptions for certain tribunal cases, individuals with cerebral palsy (CP), and those with profound learning disabilities. However, I may waive my usual guidelines around age, distance or type of assessment for tribunal cases if I believe my involvement can make a meaningful difference. I also continue to accept cases for individuals with cerebral palsy (CP) and those with profound learning disabilities, regardless of age.

I no longer provide dyslexia assessments. I recommend seeking support from specialist teachers or organisations such as the British Dyslexia Association.

While I can offer strategies to support children and young people with ADHD or autism, only medical clinicians can provide a formal diagnosis. My role is to advise on educational strategies tailored to their needs and to identify when further investigation into these areas may be beneficial.

Specialisation

Supporting teenagers with SEMH challenges
My primary area of specialisation is working with teenagers experiencing social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) challenges. I understand the complexities this age group faces and am passionate about helping young people reach their potential. As part of my SEMH assessments, cognition and learning assessments may be included if they are relevant to fully understanding the young person’s needs. For teenagers, I also offer remote and online consultations where appropriate. Please note that remote services do not include cognitive or educational assessments.

Cerebral Palsy and Acquired Brain Injury
I have a strong professional interest in supporting individuals of all ages with cerebral palsy (CP) and acquired brain injuries (ABI). I bring many years of experience to these complex cases, offering assessments that help families and professionals understand educational and developmental needs.

Profound learning disabilities
I also provide support for individuals with profound learning disabilities who may require extensive daily care, such as assisted living or full-time support. I approach these cases with a person-centred focus, recognising the unique challenges and needs of each individual.

Tribunal work

I have extensive experience in tribunal work and understand the complexities involved in these cases. My approach is flexible and thorough, ensuring that each case is considered on its own merits. I am well-versed in preparing detailed, evidence-based reports and providing clear, professional input during hearings.

All tribunal assessments are conducted in person, as remote assessments are not suitable for these cases. I am committed to taking on cases where I believe my expertise can make a meaningful difference, working closely with families, legal professionals and other specialists to support the best possible outcomes.

Travel

Due to the high demand for educational psychology services and the time required for report writing, I kindly ask clients living more than an hour away to consider attending appointments at my practice (CV47 2YY). I aim to make my services as accessible as possible while balancing these practical constraints. For non-tribunal cases, remote consultations may be an option where appropriate. However, tribunal assessments are always conducted in person.
